Bambi Rescuing Gurri

Done with charcoal pencil on pastel paper. I am currently rereading "Bambi's Children" (sequel to "Bambi") by Felix Salten and I've read it before, but forgot a lot of what happened. This is what I saw when I read a particular part. WARNING SPOILERS BELOW if you haven't read the book, but I will say this much here, that Bambi is on his way to rescue his daughter, Gurri from the Game Keeper. Later I plan to do another scene with Gurri in it. I also want to give thanks to my sweetheart. The paper was too big to fit into the scanner, so he took a photo for me with his digital camera and fixed it in Light Room so that it looks just as clear as the actual drawing.

SPOILER PART:

"The memory of Gobo troubled Bambi more than he had cared to admit. When he picked up His trail on the forest path and sensed its hated implications, he went resolutely on to the rescue, determined to risk anything or all."

This is the part when it says, "A vast, open tract of country spread ahead of him, without cover, without hope if he should be sighted."

I love this whole part with Gurri when she's being healed by the Game Keeper who is actually more of a good guy. Most of all I love how she makes friends with the Great Horned Owl. Very sweet and sort of sad and I love how Bambi is such a good father and cares greatly for his children.
